Success is a mindset. Steve Harvey

I remember my first year in college, For two semesters, I failed every class except for☝️. The result? Academic Probation

Even after academic probation, I decided college wasn’t for me.
👎🏾 “Why am I trying so hard?”
👎🏾“There’s never been any one in my family to do this anyway”
👎🏾“Lynn, you are not cut out for this”

This was the internal dialogue I was having with myself. This is how I explained failure to ME. As a single mom at the time, I needed to work.

So, I went out and got a job as a secretary with a small construction company. It was the job from hell. I mean that in every sense of the word. I cried every day for a year at lunch and after work.

One day in the midst of my tears pondering on my situation wondering how to make it better, I had this thought, “what are the possibilities?”

It was this mindset that propelled me to ask questions, seek out solutions that led me to my outcomes. Against the odds and a lot of leg work, I secured funding to get back in school. As the old saying goes, the rest is history.

A fixed mindset may sound like this and doesn’t explore no other possibilities for the outcome. “I’ve tried everything” “I’m not trying anymore, what’s for me is for me”

A growth mindset asks and explores the possibilities of what could be to open the path of what’s needed to come in.

✅There are other options.
✅There’s more than one way to solve this problem.
✅It’s not over unless you decide it’s over.

If or when you find yourself at the point where you feel, “there’s nothing else I can do about this”, ask yourself these questions:

💙What are the possibilities?
💙What existing relationships can you leverage to get what you need done?
💙What other resources do you need to help you?
